You Are Amazing

These past days have been the hardest and most trying of my life. At times I am able to suck it up and crack a joke or smile. At other times it seems as if my world is literally crashing down on top of me.

But the one thing that has given me more comfort than I ever could have imagined is this blog. The cathartic release is unparalleled but the response is truly what gets me from day to day, and sometimes from hour to hour.

I've received emails, messages and comments from old friends, new friends and friends of friends. This intricate web of encouraging words and prayers envelops our small, fragile family and gives us warmth in the coldest of times.

Thank you, thank you in more ways than I can say or even imagine. Thank you for continuing to reach out to us when we don't have the time or the strength to get right back to you. Thank you for praying for us, complete strangers or family or friends, day after day, often throughout your day.

Your kindness and generosity proves that this world which can be so harsh has many wonderful people and great things to offer our son. It is with all of our love and prayer that he will grow to see this.

All our love,
The Moline Family

  1. Seeing you hold Bryce is a wonderful way to end my day. How beautiful you are holding that precious baby with such a big smile. Your mother always says she had a beautiful daughter and motherhood has you glowing. Now, the Caleb Challenge is on: Can Caleb beat the latest holding record?
We will anxiously wait to see !!!!!

I know this will be a good day for you.I awoke this AM at five with a prayer on my lips and hope in my heart. After my talk with God I got my coffee and come to check on you and Bryce.Trina,I can't tell you how sweet the picture of you and him is.Seeing this it is hard to believe there could be any other ending except happyly ever after.Bryce has the sweetest mommy ever. And his dad is quite a guy himself.I can tell by the pictures I see.And as for his grandma,I know her and she is an awesome prayer warrior for her grandson.I pray you will get to break all records for holding your child.I'm here to tell you that after they get to be about two he will be to busy for mommy to hold.I'm praying to see that day come.

  4. Trina,

I stayed up late last night and kept checking to see if there was any new posts. Disappointed, I went to sleep, but I guess you stayed up later. It was so great to get up this morning and see you and your beautiful smile. Seeing you holding Bryce was even better. I am so happy to hear that you held Bryce for so long. I know he feels better in your arms. I know both Andrea and Tim calmed down when they slept in my arms. And holding them was some of the happiest hours of my life, so I know it must feel great to
hold Bryce. We miss you all and hope to see you, tomorrow. Bryce, we love you and we are counting the minutes until we see you.

    Love,
Aunt Gene, Uncle Lolo, Andrea and Timothy

  7. It is so awesome that you get to hold Bryce for as long as you do! Having him close to you will help him to get stronger and heal.

Cayden was 63 days old before we were allowed to hold him for the first time and we only got 30 minutes. It wasn't until he was pretty much a level two baby that we could hold him whenever and for longer periods of time.

So, I am THRILLED that y'all get to have such a beautiful expereince and spend that time close to Bryce. I know I felt far more relief and more like a mom when I got to hold my baby.

I will continue to pray for little Bryce. Everytime I thought of him yesterday, I said a prayer. Tell him to keep fighting, we are all pulling for him.

Y'all hang in there - you are doing a great job!

  8. If anyone can see this to the very end, that being the day you buckle litle Bryce in the back seat of your car, it is you Katrina. You have more perserverance and strength than anyone I have ever known. That with Caleb, you two are unparelled. You are the magic workers to Bryce and his solid future. You two are amazing. That and I never, EVER leave the entire staff of that hospital out of my prayers.

  9. Katrina,
Holy cow! You not only beat the record you DESTROYED it. Haha! I'm sure that was the best 5 hours and 5 mintues of his little life and yours. Hopefully he gained some of your strength and he's ready to fight a little bit harder. Maybe he just needed to rest up before his big come back. I love you!

    Caleb,
Yep, Katrina beat you. Now you'll just have to show her what you're made of. Haha! I think this is the best competition in the world. Who can hold your little boy the longest?!

I'm very proud of both of you. Every emotion a human being can experience, you guys have felt to an extreme. The good with the bad. One thing for sure, it has brought you two closer than you've ever been before. You are truly blessed to have one another.

    Bryce,
Come on baby! You can do it! You've come this far. No looking back, angel! We need to get you big and strong so we can do the fun things in life. Definitely some camping and fishing! I can't wait for you boys to experience it! So let's get that body healed! I love you!

  10. Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.
    Isaiah 40:28-31 Love, Aunt Christi
